A pod of whales was in heaven off the New South Wales coast in Australia. The waters were full of delicious fish, and a seal found itself in the wrong neck of the woods. Instead of trying to jockey for position in the middle of a feeding frenzy it caught a ride — on a humpback whale’s back.
NSW National Parks and Wildlife whale expert Geoff Ross told the Sydney Morning Herald that while this behavior is unusual, it’s not unheard of.
“The only other time was a seal trying to get away from a killer whale … the seal hopped on the back of the pectoral fins of a humpback whale.”
Either way, gnarly shreddage seal dude.
