The incredible scenes were captured by Norway’s Coast Guard 3-30 Rescue Squadron as it attempted to pull five crewmembers to safety from the boat.
Despite stormy conditions, a Sea King rescue helicopter hovered over the site as the men were raised to safety.
During the rescue, the boat was halfway underwater and listing at 90 degrees, forcing the crewmen to cling to the side while they awaited rescue.
Two fell into the water, but were saved shortly before the remaining three also went into the waves. Eventually, all five were safely plucked from the ocean.
The boat’s captain says he isn’t sure what happened, but he suspects a net was caught in the propeller, causing a loss of power and the inability to steer clear of rocks.
The boat has since completely sunk.
